At this time the leaders and workers of both the parties from inside and outside the ward started chanting slogans. The commotion caused panic among the patients admitted to the ward. Later, the college principal Tito Mia and the director of the hospital, Brigadier General. Nazmul Haque went to the spot with the police and calmed down the situation.

Ashraful Alam, deputy director of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said the incident took place due to a misunderstanding. The director of the hospital has promised to take action against those responsible for the situation.
