Special Representative Meet the Press was held on Sunday afternoon with the full-length film ‘Chiranjeev Mujib’ based on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s ‘Unfinished Autobiography’ and dedicated to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her younger sister Sheikh Rehana. Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Md. Maqbool Hossain addressed the function as a special guest under the chairmanship of director and dialogue writer Nazrul Islam at Bangladesh Film Archive Projection Hall in Agargaon. Additional Secretary of the Ministry Md. Faruk Ahmed, Creative Director Jewel Mahmud and Producer Liton Haider were present on the occasion.

Information Minister. Hasan Mahmood thanked the Prime Minister for giving him time to make the film ‘Chiranjeev Mujib’. He said the unfinished autobiography of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has been translated into various languages and the book has been read by millions of people including other speakers. But no film was made about it. I thank Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu, for this film. Many thanks also to the film’s director Nazrul Islam and producer Liton Haider. Secretary Md. Maqbool Hossain hoped that the film would be very popular.

If the film is dubbed in other languages and sent to other countries, the world will know about Bangabandhu’s life and work struggle said the Broadcasting Minister. Ahmed Rubel has played the role of Bangabandhu in the movie ‘Chiranjeev Mujib’. Begum Fazilatun Nesha Renu is played by Purnima and Bangabandhu’s father and mother are played by Khairul Alam Sabuj and Dilara Zaman respectively. The director of the film Nazrul Islam said that on June 23, 2021, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the film by signing three posters of the film. The film is scheduled to release in theatres across the country on December 31.
