On the afternoon of December 16, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will administer the oath of office to the people of the country on the 50th anniversary of her victory. Necessary preparations have been directed for this purpose.

On Saturday (December 4), the Prime Minister’s Office sent letters to secretaries of all ministries and departments, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners and upazila executive officers (UNOs) instructing them to make preparations.

The letter said the swearing-in ceremony on the occasion of the golden jubilee of independence and the year of Mujib will be held simultaneously across the country on December 16 at 4 pm on the day of great victory. People of all classes and professions across the country will take part in this oath.

The letter suggested that the oath-taking ceremony be held at the designated venues of all divisions / districts / upazila stadiums / Great Victory Day.

The oath can be taken by joining the main event through video conference from the Divisional Stadium. Other venues will follow the broadcast live. The letter also said that those taking oath would take oath with national flag in hand.

The National Implementation Committee for the Celebration of the Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will immediately send a detailed policy on the swearing-in ceremony, the letter said.

On December 16 and 17, the central event of the Golden Jubilee of Independence and Mujibvarsha will be held at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad under the title ‘Mahavijayer Mahanayak’. The President said. Abdul Hamid and President of India Ramnath Kobind will be present.
