This dedicated layout allows engineers to swap distinct modular body modules, colloquially termed top hats, depending on specific customer requirements or business operational demands.

The modular design approach enables Kia to manufacture a wide selection of vehicle iterations on a single assembly foundation. Official launch documentation indicates that the brand plans to roll out 23 distinct PV7 variants over the coming years, spanning dedicated commercial cargo haulers, shuttle vehicles, and customizable chassis cabs.

Utilizing a 350-kilowatt DC fast charger, commercial operators can boost battery charge levels from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 25 minutes during routine stopovers.

The physical footprint of the PV7 has expanded substantially compared to earlier concept vehicles unveiled during preliminary technology showcases. Measuring 5,350 millimeters long, 1,995 millimeters wide, and 1,990 millimeters tall, the production van rides on a generous 3,500-millimeter wheelbase for optimized stability.

This expanded stature makes the PV7 noticeably larger than competitor vehicles, including long-wheelbase variants of rival electric vans currently dominating European roads. In cargo trim, the van offers up to 6.1 cubic meters of load volume, while high-roof derivatives stretch total enclosed space to 8 cubic meters.

Operational efficiency remains central to the commercial design, offering a maximum payload capacity reaching 1,200 kilograms on compact versions and 1,165 kilograms on long-wheelbase configurations. A low 550-millimeter load height simplifies cargo handling, while the cavernous floor layout effortlessly accommodates up to three full-sized Euro pallets.

Heavy commercial duty cycle demands are supported by specialized software enhancements tailored for severe working environments. Kia has incorporated a dedicated heavy-loading driving mode that recalibrates power output and traction systems to maintain optimal vehicle control and efficiency when carrying maximum payload weights.

Passenger Flexibility and Advanced Cabin Tech

Beyond cargo logistics, the passenger-focused PV7 caters to shuttle, rental, and large-family transport applications with versatile interior configurations. Global markets will receive configurations seating up to nine individuals, whereas specific domestic market models in Korea will offer seating layouts accommodating up to 11 passengers.

Seating flexibility is enhanced by an integrated long-rail system featuring easily removable seating assemblies in seven-seat models. Passengers and operators can quickly reconfigure the interior cabin, while nine-seat derivatives provide additional versatility through an optional, fully integrated fourth-row arrangement for high-density transport duties.

The driver cockpit centers around Hyundai Motor Group’s Pleos Connect infotainment system, featuring expansive 12.9-inch and 14.6-inch digital displays.
